How do I compress a PDF in DocHub?

Open your PDF, go to the Download or export menu, tick Compress File under PDF Options, and download. DocHub compresses the file as it saves.

Is compressing a PDF free?

No. PDF compression is a Pro-plan feature. You can create a free DocHub account, but compression is a download option available on the Pro plan.

Will compression reduce the quality?

It can. DocHub notes that compression may reduce file quality — it trades some quality for a smaller size, which is usually fine for sharing and storage.

Where is the compress option?

It's the Compress File checkbox in the Download or export dialog, under PDF Options. Compression is applied at the moment you download or export the file.

How much smaller will my file be?

The reduction depends on the document — image-heavy PDFs usually shrink the most, while text-only files may change less. DocHub applies compression on export rather than letting you set a target size.
